Sachin Tapasvi

Dr. Sachin Tapasvi is a distinguished Sports Medicine and Joint Replacement Surgeon, renowned for his expertise and skill in treating patients in Pune as well as internationally. With a unique combination of skills, he stands out as one of the rarest Orthopaedic surgeons, excelling in primary and revision complex joint replacements, sports injury management and surgery, as well as complex alignment surgeries with equal expertise.

He completed his MBBS and M.S. (Orthopaedics) from B.J. Medical College, Pune, where he earned gold medals for ranking first in both courses, along with distinctions in Surgery and ENT. Driven by a passion for excellence, Dr. Tapasvi further refined his expertise as an Asia Pacific Fellow at The Queen Elizabeth Hospital in Adelaide, Australia, starting in 1998. There, he contributed to Adult Reconstruction Surgery services, focusing on Arthroscopy and Joint Replacement. His exceptional abilities led to his appointment as Clinical Tutor at the University of Adelaide. Upon his return to India, Dr. Tapasvi quickly established himself as a consultant specializing in sports medicine, arthritis, arthroscopy, and joint replacement.

Chanakarn Phornphutkul

A/Prof Dr. Chanakarn Phornphutkul is an Associate Professor at Chiang Mai University. He is the chief of the sports medicine and arthroscopy unit, highly specialized in knee, shoulder, and other joints. He performs a complete line from repair to reconstruction and replacement. He has a special interest in knee ligament reconstruction and shoulder tissue repair using arthroscopic surgery. He is also on the trauma team, serving patients who suffer from fractures.

David Flanigan

David C. Flanigan is a Professor of Orthopedics at The Ohio State University (OSU) where he serves as Director of the Cartilage Restoration Program, Fellowship Director of Orthopedic Sports Medicine, and Team Physician for the OSU Athletic Department. Formerly in private practice, Dr. Flanigan joined the OSU Sports Medicine Department in 2005. He is board certified by the American Board of Orthopedic Surgery and has subspecialty certification in Orthopedic Sports Medicine. His practice encompasses all sports-related injuries. He uses advanced open and arthroscopic techniques to help his patients get back to their active lifestyles at the earliest.

Ryosuke Kuroda

Dr Ryosuke Kuroda is a Professor and Chairman of Kobe University Graduate School of Medicine, Department of Orthopaedic Surgery, Japan. He was selected for the Patellofemoral Travelling Fellowship of ISAKOS in 2007, as well as the traveling fellowship of APOSSM-ESSKA in 2010.

Since 2000, he has been a member of ISAKOS Board of Director (2013-), and member of strategic committee (2015-). He is the education committee member of APKASS (Asia-Pacific Knee, Arthroscopy and Sports Medicine Society) (2014-). He has been appointed Chief editor of APSMART, an associate editor of KSSTA. He has been team doctor for Vissel Kobe (Japanese division 1 soccer league), Orix Buffaloes (Japanese division 1 baseball league), and Kobe Kobelco Steelers (Japanese division 1 rugby league).

Hiroshi Takagi

Dr Hiroshi Takagi is a professor of Tokyo Women’s Medical University, Adachi Medical Center, Dept of Orthopaedic. He specializes in knee surgery and sports medicine who has performed numerous surgical treatments for knee ligament and meniscus injuries. He has a significant experience in treating knee joint injuries around ligament and meniscus injuries, especially in soccer players, from recreational level to professional athletes. He served as the chief team doctor for the J1 professional association football league in Japan in the past and was a chief doctor for Japan‘s under-23 (U-23) team for the Rio de Janeiro Olympics.

Yuichi Hoshino

Dr Yuichi Hoshino is a lecturer of Kobe University Graduate School of Medicine, Department of Orthopaedic Surgery, Japan. He specializes in knee surgery and sports medicine and closely works with Prof. Ryosuke Kuroda. He was a research fellow at University of Pittsburg from 2009 to 2011 and was selected for APKASS-AOSSM Traveling Fellowship in 2018 and GOTS-KOSSM-JOSSM travelling fellow in 2023. He was awarded for the Best of ORS posters in Knee Category in ORS Meeting in 2017, Jan I. Gillquist Scientific Research Award in ISAKOS Congress in 2017, and Excellent English Oral Presentation by JOSSM in 2018.

Yuka Kimura

Dr. Yuka Kimura is a lecturer of Orthopaedic Dept, Hirosaki University Graduate School of Medicine and closely works with Prof. Yasuyuki Ishibashi. She specializes in Sports Medicine and Knee Joint Surgery, especially in arthroscopic surgery related to sports medicine, knee as well as prevention of anterior cruciate ligament injury.

She was a visiting research fellow at Department of Orthopaedic Surgery, Emory University, USA from 2017 to 2018. She was selected as GOTS-KOSSM-JOSSM Travelling fellowship in 2023. She was awarded by Eastern Japan Association of Orthopaedic and Traumatology in 2015 and has received numerous research grants in related fields of sports medicine. She is an associate editor for Journal of Joint Surgery and Research and a reviewer for American Journal of Sports Medicine, Journal of ISAKOS, Asia-Pacific Journal of Sports Medicine, Arthroscopy, etc. She serves as a councilor of Guideline committee for JOA, Guideline committee, Program Committee for JKS, board member for Knee joint forum, Gender and diversity Committee (2023-2024) for ISAKOS, etc.
