Reducing the risk of surgical site complications with sNPWT (meta-analysis + NICE)

Reducing the risk of surgical site complications with sNPWT (meta-analysis + NICE)

There is a growing body of clinical evidence in which prophylactic NPWT has shown to reduce the risk of surgical site complications.

A meta-analysis was performed showing the impact of PICO sNPWT on several clinically important SSCs, including SSI, dehiscence, seroma and necrosis, compared with standard of care.

What you will learn:

  • Describe the study criteria for the literature review and studies included in meta-analysis
  • List the clinical and economic endpoints measured in the meta-analysis
  • Recall the results of the meta-analysis
  • Justify the use of PICO Single Use Negative Pressure Wound Therapy System (sNPWT) as recommended by NICE
